Anime club was fun. We ended up voting to see Legend of the Dragon Kings, CardCaptor Sakura, Full Metal Panic!? Fumoffu, and Chr(o)no Crusade, in that order. A great lineup, if I do say so myself (and I do!).

And now, on to the reviews!

Legend of the Dragon Kings
Rating: 10/10

Hajime, Tsuzuku, Owaru, and Amaru - the four Ryudo brothers. Their parents died a while ago, and since then, Hajime has sort of taken over the household and taken to caring for the family. Their grandfather founded the prestegious Kyowa University, a school where students from pre-K to post-doctorate go to study; Hajime is currently the youngest board member ever there, but the brothers' uncle is the current dean, and he's in the middle of a plot to bring the boys down. Because there's more to the Ryudos than they think. A lot more...

I cannot say this enough: I LOVE THIS SERIES.

CardCaptor Sakura
Rating: 8.5/10

Sakura's just an everyday school girl, brutish older brother and all. Her mother died a while ago, but her father does a great job providing for the family as a college professor. She has an interest in one of her brother's classmates, Yuki, but one of her own classmates seems to have a thing for her. Anyway, one day when Sakura returns home from school, she hears an odd sound coming from the basement. Afraid it's a burglar, she goes to investigate, only to find a book labeled "The CLOW". She opens it up and, in doing so, scatters all sorts of cards all over the place. Keroberos, the great guardian Beast of the Seal, informs her that it's now her job to go get them back, lest a catastrophe befall the Earth.

This show is like a dessert: too sweet for words, but too much and your teeth will rot. I love it, but any more than this and I couldn't take it. XD

Full Metal Panic!? Fumoffu
Rating: 8/10

Sousuke Sagara grew up travelling between various dangerous foreign lands - as a result, he's highly brutish and no-nonsense, to the point of it being completely natural and expected of him to blow up his shoe locker with high-yield explosives if he finds signs of tampering - say, someone left a love letter but also left behind a hair. Hilarity ensues.

A great comedy with very little plot - I like it.

Chr(o)no Crusade
Rating: 9.5/10

Sister Rosette is as her title suggests - a nun. Specifically, a nun in the Magdelan order. Chrono is her sidekick; ironically, he's the very thing her order hunts - a demon.

There is a LOT more story behind this series than this, but I can't possibly begin to describe it. VERY high on my must-watch list.

Legend of the Dragon Kings was definitely awesome. I like the story it's putting together, and it really makes you think. Of course, it also has lots of cool, spectacular stuff going on.

CCS was in some ways quite predictably a magical girl anime, but there was so much weird, wacky stuff in there that I'd say it was still pretty fun to watch. You raise a very good point about those costumes fitting so well. Man, that girl is creepy.

Sousuke Sagara's personality is probably a double-digit percentage of why Fumoffu is good, but that's perfectly okay, since it's done so well. That dude cracks me up.

Chrono Crusade was awesome. Reminded me in some basic ways of an industrial-age Hellsing, except a little more whimsical and with an interesting religious slant on it. The story, of course, appears to be completely different. The genius of it is that the show keeps you interested because it gives you just enough information that you demand more.
