I'm about halfway through writing my physics paper, which is due this Friday. Yes, I'm taking a break to write this. It's just that this subject is so frigging amazing.
My paper is supposed to be a scientific biography of Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. At first, I could find very little on him; a few books written by him, none of which I could understand, and a few minor mentionings in other astrophysics books, and that was about it. Then, I found Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein's Outrageous Legacy by Dr. Kip Thorne. Now, I can't contain everything about the man in ten pages without losing a whole lot. This man's life is proof that every scientific accomplishment is closely tied into a real-life soap opera. I can't explain it all here, but I'll definitely publish this paper to my writing website when it's finished.
I mean, Jebus, this guy, just, wow. This is exactly why I went into the field of astrophysics myself: because I love being tied into a story like the one that's still going on in science. Why else do you think I also enjoy writing fiction? It's all the same sort of thing: people intricately tied to other people through accomplishments, struggles, etc. I LOVE this stuff!
